Spooky stuff at li­brary

TO CEL­E­BRATE Chil­dren’s Book Fes­ti­val, Bal­ly­waltrim Li­brary is run­ning a Hal­loween Spell-Writ­ing Com­pe­ti­tion! Lots of great prizes are on of­fer so pick up an ap­pli­ca­tion form in the li­brary and get writ­ing. The com­pe­ti­tion is open to any­one aged twelve years or un­der.

Two craft days are also com­ing up at the li­brary dur­ing the midterm break, on Tues­day Oc­to­ber 28 when they are hav­ing sto­ry­telling and mak­ing de­signer book­marks, and on Fri­day Oc­to­ber 31, when they will be mak­ing spooky Hal­lowe’en masks.

Book­ing will com­mence two weeks be­fore each event and can be done over the phone or in Bal­ly­waltrim branch.

The next Book Club meet­ing will take place on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 20, at 11 a.m. where we will be dis­cussing ‘Where the In­dus is Young’ by Dervla Mur­phy. Copies are avail­able in the li­brary and new mem­bers are al­ways wel­come to chat and have a cup of tea and some bis­cuits.

Com­puter and in­ter­net classes for be­gin­ners are also start­ing in Oc­to­ber and Novem­ber which are free of charge. Book­ing is es­sen­tial so do get in touch for more de­tails or to put your name down.
