Our Cardiac First Responders Group in Laragh are looking for some more volunteers to join their group to continue to assist the ambulance service within our community.
At present, we have six members and ideally we would like to have 10 members on our rota in order to continue to supply a 24-7 coverage. Anyone interested should either ring Sheila on 087 2121522 or speak to Frank Evans for more information.
We would like to take this opportunity of thanking both Eileen and Gerry Patterson, who have retired from our group recently, and we wish them the best of luck and a happy retirement!
Eileen and Gerry have been members of our group since our commencement in February 2005 and Gerry has been our co-ordinator. They will be missed.
Since we began this project in Laragh three and half years ago, we have had approx 50 call outs and our response time is within 5 minutes of receiving the call from the ambulance service. It is of great benefit to our community to have this service and we would appreciate more volunteers to continue.

Musical Theatre/Singing Workshops for kids will be held at the Brockagh Centre each Saturday in December from 2 to 5 pm; classes will be divided by age. So if you want to have fun and enjoy singing, from chart songs to great musicals, look no further! The workshops will be facilitated by Leslie Dowdall and Honor Heffernan, both of whom are well known in the music industry.
Leslie and Honor have been singing since the cradle, and it has always been a source of great joy for them both. It is with this in mind that they have put together this series of workshops for children. Their aim is to help the students get the best out of their voices, and have the enjoyment of singing well and learning new songs.
Both Honor and Leslie have been working independently with children for the past number of years, Honor as the voice coach in The Irish Academy of Dramatic Art and Leslie through her own company, Musicraft. For more information call 086-3378473.
