Greystones get a share against Dublin Bus
LEINSTER SENIOR LEAGUE Greystones AFC 1, Dublin Bus 1: This was a good match ruined by an over officious referee who booked eight players with not one bad tackle in sight.
’Stones went close on ten mins when a good free kick by Shane Fitzgerald was met by Stephen Roche who should have hit the target from six yards.
Declan O’Mahony went close seven minutes later when his angled shot just cleared the crossbar.
It took the visitors a half an hour before they troubled the ’Stones defence but they went ahead two minutes later when a speculative effort from a Bus midfielder bounced over Chris Mason and into the net.
Five minutes later a great right wing run and shot from Peter McGee forced a fine save from the Bus ’keeper.
The second half was a very even affair with few clear cut chances although Bus should have sealed all three points on 75 minutes when they got through on goal but Chris Mason made a great save.
’Stones deservedly equalised in the last minute when Stephen Roche powered home a header at the back post.
