Put off the road
AN 18-year-old apprentice mechanic was put off the road at Bray District Court last week. Andrew Robertson of 43 Cois Cairn, Old Connaught Avenue pleaded guilty to driving without insurance at Corbawn Drive in Shankill on May 31.
Defence solicitor Conway O’Hara asked the judge to consider the fact that a disqualification would have a serious affect on Robertson’s job.
‘The court has to view the matter seriously as many people are out there driving without insurance and young people seem to think that it won’t happen to them,’ replied Judge Murrough Connellan.
For driving with no insurance he convicted and fined Robertson ¤350 and disqualified him from driving for two years.
