Hilary’s new work goes on display in Arts Centre
ONE OF the great things to come out of the recession of the eighties was the great creativity that ran through the country.
Maybe all some artists need is a bad economy but in Hilary Orpen’s case her talent speaks and sells itself.
Before the grand opening of her latest exhibition named Present Past at the Signal Arts Centre, Hilary had sold five of her paintings.
By the end of the evening she had sold a further six paintings, bringing the grand total up to 11.
The RTE radio presenter Marian Finucane and friend of Orpen, who opened the exhibition, spoke of her admiration for her friend’s work and her ability to transfer her ideas so creatively on to canvas. The exhibition will run until Sunday October 26.
