Pool staff not vetted by Gardaí

Bray People - - Council Report -

THE SAFETY of the children of Bray who use the new swimming pool came under scrutiny at last week’s Town Council meeting.

It was revealed that the staff currently working at the new swimming pool and who have direct contact with children of all ages have yet to be vetted by Gardaí. Councillor Michael Lawlor put the question to the CEO of Shoreline Bray and Greystones Swimming Pools, Mr. Dominic Gunshenan.

‘We are still awaiting Garda vetting on the staff who are currently working with temporary contracts until they are given clearance,’ responded Mr. Gunshenan.

Councillor John McManus was less than satisfied and wanted further details as to why staff were employed without having Garda clearance first.
