Council to continue battle against waste

Bray People - - Council Report -

AS BRAY Recycling Centre won a Repak Award last week, Bray Town Council are determined to continue their battle on waste.

The Big Belly Solar Compactor bins may yet replace the current street bins around the town.

The new phenomenon in waste bins are 100 per cent solar powered and can hold up to eight times the amount of a normal street bin.

The idea was proposed by the Green Party members at last week’s Town Council meeting.

‘Sligo and Roscommon County Councils have already had these bins on trial and they have been a great success in the U.S. I think that they would be a fantastic addition to the town of Bray,’ said Councillor Caroline Burrell.

Councillor Vance was in complete agreement, informing Cllr Burrell that the rejuvenation committee had already looked into using them.

Councillor Bríd Collins also gave the bins the thumbs up; ‘the price is so reasonable for such a great e nv i r o n m e n t a l l y friendly bin’.

It was agreed by all members that taking the Big Belly Solar Contractor Bins on for a trial would be looked into further.
