Newtown Junior B team had a great win on Saturday last in Arklow to win the County Championship in a thrilling final against An Tochar. As captain Steve Kelly lifted the inaugural Matt Britton Trophy there was a huge cheer for a fitting end to a great season for this team.
Newtown got off to a flying start when Terry Murphy was brought down in the square and Dessie Waters converted the penalty in the third minute. It was nip and tuck for the rest of the half and Newtown went into the dressing room at half time leading 105 to 0-05.
