Kilbride stay in Intermediate ranks
Kilbride 1-10, Knockananna 1-7: Kilbride made sure of their place in Intermediate football for another year when they beat Knockananna in the semi- final of the relegation play-off at Baltinglass.
Knockananna played with the wind in the first-half but were slow enough to get going. Entering the second quarter a great point from out near the side line by Seán Canna lifted the team. They fired over some good points to lead by 0-6 to 0-2 at half-time.
Kilbride made the most of the wind advantage in the second-half. Sub Paul Keogh and Ciarán Jones kicked over some great points, Jones boxed over two more and midway through the second-half they were leading by 0-8 to 06 with Knockananna still to score. Paul Keogh, who made a huge difference when he was introduced at half-time made the opening for the goal, finished by Niall Toolis.
Knockananna get one last chance to save their status when they take on Valleymount in the final play-off.
