St Patrick’s School may lose teachers

Bray People - - Bray People -

ST. PATRICK’S National School in Bray has been named as one of the schools likely to lose teachers as part of Government cuts, according to new data compiled by the Irish National Teacher’s Organisation (INTO).

The figures, based on the number of pupils enrolled this year and taking into consideration the cuts as outlined in the Budget, indicates that St. Patrick’s stands to lose two teachers.

The Budget changes include an increase in class sizes from 27 to 28, the loss of teaching posts from schools no longer designated as disadvantaged, and a new ceiling of a maximum of two language support teachers for most schools.
