Woman with leg in­juries found on moun­tain

MOUN­TAIN res­cue teams in­volved in the re­cov­ery of four bodies from a crashed Bri­tish air­craft also res­cued a young woman who had sus­tained leg in­juries on Sun­day af­ter­noon.

Mem­bers of the Glen of Imaal and D u b l i n / Wi c k l ow Moun­tain Res­cue Teams re­sponded to a call out as they were work­ing at the scene of the light- air­craft crash. They re­ceived a call about a woman who sus­tained lower leg in­juries while out hill- walk­ing on Ly­bagh Moun­tain south of Lug­naquil­lia and near Augha­vanna.

The call- out was re­ceived at 1.10 p. m. and the Air­corps and mem­bers of the Moun­tain Res­cue Teams soon ar­rived at the scene and be­gan treat- ing her be­fore the in­jured woman was evac­u­ated to an await­ing ERHA am­bu­lance.

She was brought to Lough­lin­stown Hospi­tal for fur­ther treat­ment.
