Trapped van driver cut from wreckage
COLLISION TRAFFIC STOPPED ON BUSY BOGHALL ROAD
THE DRIVER of a security van had to be cut from his overturned vehicle by firefighters last Tuesday evening after a dramatic three- vehicle collision on the Boghall Road, which stopped traffic for over an hour.
A source in the Bray fire service, which had two units at the scene, said that it appeared two cars and the van had somehow crashed in to each other and the van ended up on its side after the accident.
‘ We then had to cut the trapped van driver free,’ said the source, adding that while there did not appear to be any serious injuries to anyone involved after the smash, the man driving the van had been complaining to firemen of back pain on the night.
Residents in the area said that the disruption to the busy road because of its forced closure was extensive, even though the incident happened late in the evening when traffic would not have been at its highest point of the day.
As well as two units of the Bray fire brigade, four squad cars were present at the scene of the accident, which occurred at around 10 p. m. along the Mountainview Drive stretch of the Boghall Road.
