CLLR. JOHN RYAN, Mick Glynn and Sarah Wray have been selected to contest next year’s Wicklow County Council election.

The selection convention for the Bray Electoral Area of Fine Gael was held at the Glenview Hotel last Thursday night and was attended by a large crowd.

Cllr. Ryan, who was elected in 2004 to Wicklow County Council to represent Bray, Enniskerry, Kilmacanogue and Roundwood, was nominated by Frank Byrne and Harry Williams.

Sarah Wray, meanwhile, was nominated by John Byrne and Clare Comerford. Ms. Wray said that she is a young mother and a nurse who has experienced first hand the effects of the ‘savage’ cuts of the government.

Mick Glynn was nominated by Ray Comerford and Cllr. John Ryan. He said he was looking forward to the challenge of getting Bray Back to a town ‘we can be truly proud of.’

Cllr. Ryan paid tribute to Bríd Collins who has decided to retire from politics for health reasons.
