GARDAÍ IN Bray have confirmed that they will be seizing material built up for bonfires in the run up to Halloween. They have also urged parents to ensure their children are not playing with fireworks this year.
The HSA has also called upon parents and young people all over Wicklow to be extra-careful in relation to safety, keeping in mind that unlicensed fireworks are illegal in Ireland.
‘The weeks before and after Halloween represent the busiest time of the year for the fire services,’ said A HSE spokesman. ‘They are also extremely hectic for ambulance and hospital services.’
Parents are also advised to accompany their children when going from house to house, and make sure their costumes are safe.
