‘SURE I’M guilty anyway,’ was the reply after caution from Colin O’Toole, 19 Roger Casement Park, Garda John Thompson told Bray District Court on Monday.
O’Toole, whom the court heard had been out drinking with his employer when he decided to drive the boss’s car as he was less drunk.
He was fined €250 for drunken driving and disqualified from driving for one year. He was also fined €350 for no insurance and banned for two years and one day.
‘He doesn’t in fact drive,’ his solicitor Conway O’Hara told the court when asked if the accused has a driving license. He was fined a further €100 for having no driving licence and €250 for refusing to give his name to Gardaí. Mr. O’Hara said that his client has a serious alcohol addiction and has admitted to himself for the first time that he has a problem.
