Roundwood Community First Responders Group was launched in January 2005.

We are a group of volunteers trained as a minimum in basic life support and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), who attends a potentially life threatening emergency before an ambulance arrives.

In most cases the CFR will be on the scene within 3-9 minutes and treating the casualty.

This early attendance could literally mean the difference between life and death especially when the person has suffered a cardiac arrest and requires immediate defibrillation.

Since we began we have attended just over 30 call outs. We would like to have some more volunteers to ensure a 24-7 service.

If you would like to join or receive more information contact Mary 0876799082, Jacinta 0861970359 or Marion 0872502201 and you will receive an information pack

Our under 18 lads team played against Ashford in the semi-final of the minor B Football Shield last week and after trailing for the first half bounced back to win by a comfortable margin and gain a place in the Shield Final. The managers have now commenced their winter training programme so check with your manager when your session takes place and keep fit for the winter. We wish Eoghan Marah a speedy recovery to an injury he sustained at training last week and hope to see him back in action soon.
