Grey­stones AFC 3, Glen­more Dun­drum 0: Stones won this rel­e­ga­tion bat­tle at the Arch Field on Sun­day with good bat­tling dis­play es­pe­cially in the sec­ond-half.

LSL SE­NIOR DIVI­SION The vis­i­tors were the first to threaten on six min­utes when a right wing cross was met by the cen­tre for­ward who blazed over from six yards.

Paddy Mer­ri­gan met a cor­ner-kick on 20 min­utes but his ef­fort was cleared.

Stones then went ahead seven min­utes be­fore the break when Richie O’Han­lon made a great run down the left wing, cut in­side and laid on a su­perb pass to Wayne Byrne who net­ted from 12 yards.

Byrne notched his and Stones sec­ond three min­utes af­ter the break af­ter hes- itancy in the vis­i­tors de­fence saw the two cen­tre backs al­low him a clear shot from six yards.

Sam Keat­ing went close on 67 min­utes with a header but the Glen­more keeper brought off a great save.

Stones sealed the points with a quar­ter of an hour to go, a quickly taken free by Ciaran Harte found Zam­bra on the right whose cross was met by Richie O Han­lon who ri­fled home from 10 yards.

Grey­stones play Malahide Utd away in the 2nd round of the FAI In­ter­me­di­ate Cup next Sun­day
