Tourism board uses com­pe­ti­tions to en­tice visi­tors to shop lo­cally

WICK­LOW County Tourism hopes to at­tract visi­tors to the Gar­den County dur­ing the build up to Christ­mas through a num­ber of com­pe­ti­tions and ac­com­mo­da­tion pack­ages.

An ex­ten­sive fes­tive ac­tiv­i­ties sec­tion is avail­able at the web­site as the tourism body hope to turn the cur­rent eco­nomic tide by draw­ing droves of tourists to Wick­low’s many at­trac­tions.

Prizes in­clude two nights B&B for two peo­ple at the Brook­lodge Ho­tel, din­ner for two at the Ark­low Bay Ho­tel, two nights free ac­com­mo­da­tion in Knock­ree Hos­tel’s Hon­ey­moon Suite, vouch­ers for Cross­fire Paint­ball Games and plenty more ex­cit­ing prizes to be won.

Chair­man Tom For­tune says, ‘mem­bers of Wick­low County Tourism have made a huge ef­fort this year to make sure that visi­tors to the county will have a won­der­ful time this Christ­mas. A lot of ac­tiv­ity is tak­ing place in County Wick­low through­out Novem­ber and De­cem­ber. There is some­thing for all ages and bud­gets.’

Visit the web­site www.vis- itwick­ and you will be able to en­ter a weekly Christ­mas com­pe­ti­tion and be in with a chance to win some great prizes. All you have to do is an­swer a sim­ple ques­tion each week to be in with a chance of win­ning.
