Tourism board uses competitions to entice visitors to shop locally
WICKLOW County Tourism hopes to attract visitors to the Garden County during the build up to Christmas through a number of competitions and accommodation packages.
An extensive festive activities section is available at the website as the tourism body hope to turn the current economic tide by drawing droves of tourists to Wicklow’s many attractions.
Prizes include two nights B&B for two people at the Brooklodge Hotel, dinner for two at the Arklow Bay Hotel, two nights free accommodation in Knockree Hostel’s Honeymoon Suite, vouchers for Crossfire Paintball Games and plenty more exciting prizes to be won.
Chairman Tom Fortune says, ‘members of Wicklow County Tourism have made a huge effort this year to make sure that visitors to the county will have a wonderful time this Christmas. A lot of activity is taking place in County Wicklow throughout November and December. There is something for all ages and budgets.’
Visit the website www.vis- itwicklow.ie and you will be able to enter a weekly Christmas competition and be in with a chance to win some great prizes. All you have to do is answer a simple question each week to be in with a chance of winning.
The site also gives information on concerts, markets, accommodation specials, parties and other activities taking place in Wicklow.
