THE GREYSTONES branch of Toastmasters presented a cheque to the town’s Cancer Support Centre last Thursday, having raised €1,500 for the organisation.

The committee presented the cheque to Kathleen Kelleher of Greystones Cancer Support, with Mayor George Jones also there to lend his support.

Colin Love of Toastmasters, who sadly lost his dad to the illness earlier in the year, said that the service provided by the centre’s staff to sufferers and their families is absolutely

the invaluable town.

The money was raised by the public speaking group at a recent celebration of their 15th birthday at the new theatre in the Meridian centre.

They held a raffle on the night, with a number of wonderful prizes sponsored by local businesses, and people donated very generously to the worthy cause.
