THE Greystones Branch of ‘Comhairle na nÓg, a youth version of the town council, have requested €2,000 from the council’s funds.

The Town Clerk, Ms. Myra Porter said that she will investigate funding from Wicklow County Council as the Greystones budget is quite limited.

Comhairle na nÓg is composed of students from St. David’s and Colaiste Craobh Abhann as well as members of the Kilcoole youth club.

Ms. Porter said that, as Greystones is not a totally self-funded council, she will pursue the matter with Wicklow County Council. Mayor of Greystones, Cllr. George Jones, said that he attended the council’s first meeting last month. They will meet every two months.
