KILMACANOGUE G.A.A. club chose to honour the 1983 Junior Championship winning team and the very successful 1958 team last Thursday night. This was preceded by the annual Mass for the deceased members of the club and afterwards in the Glencormac Inn, where many photographic memorabilia was on display.

Three priests, and unusually three former players, celebrated the mass with Fr. Ben Mulligan the chief celebrant assisted by Fr. Jack Lynch and Fr. MacAleer. Fr. Ben recalled the great pride both he and the team felt when they defeated a strong Kilcoole team to win the Schweppes Cup in 1958 and an Intermediate Championship in 1959.

Peadar Smyth recalled some glorious moments over the clubs history and great credit is due to him, Joy Burke and Susan Fox for compiling such a great collection of the clubs history which brought back many happy memories (and some sad ones).

Well done to all on what was a truly great night.
