The Mentoring Programme has been running since September and involves Fifth Year students working with First Year students. The First year students have found the programme to be most helpful in helping them to settle into their new environment in secondary school. A huge thanks to Fifth Year mentors. Keep up the good work.
TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT
The table tennis tournament commenced this week in the Hall at lunchtimes. All students are invited to take part, with spot prizes for students who take on their teachers in a round of table tennis.
The Carnival Club has been busy planning for next years St. Patrick’s Day Parade, after last year’s great success. Students have been engaging in arts and crafts as well as hip-hop.
Outing Breakfast Club students are looking forward to a surprise outing next week as a reward for their great attendance all year.
As part of their Development Education Programme, Transition Year students visited NUI Maynooth last Monday. They worked with schools from Carlow and Kilkenny and engaged in activities dealing with issues such as child labour, poverty and gender equity.
