MEN­TOR­ING PRO­GRAMME

The Men­tor­ing Pro­gramme has been run­ning since Septem­ber and in­volves Fifth Year stu­dents work­ing with First Year stu­dents. The First year stu­dents have found the pro­gramme to be most help­ful in help­ing them to set­tle into their new en­vi­ron­ment in secondary school. A huge thanks to Fifth Year men­tors. Keep up the good work.

TA­BLE TEN­NIS TOUR­NA­MENT

The ta­ble ten­nis tour­na­ment com­menced this week in the Hall at lunchtimes. All stu­dents are in­vited to take part, with spot prizes for stu­dents who take on their teach­ers in a round of ta­ble ten­nis.

CAR­NI­VAL CLUB

The Car­ni­val Club has been busy plan­ning for next years St. Pa­trick’s Day Pa­rade, af­ter last year’s great suc­cess. Stu­dents have been en­gag­ing in arts and crafts as well as hip-hop.

BREAK­FAST CLUB

Out­ing Break­fast Club stu­dents are looking for­ward to a sur­prise out­ing next week as a re­ward for their great at­ten­dance all year.

TRAN­SI­TION YEAR

As part of their De­vel­op­ment Ed­u­ca­tion Pro­gramme, Tran­si­tion Year stu­dents vis­ited NUI Maynooth last Mon­day. They worked with schools from Car­low and Kilkenny and en­gaged in ac­tiv­i­ties deal­ing with is­sues such as child labour, poverty and gen­der eq­uity.
