This is a vey busy time of the year for the transition year students of St.Brendan’s. The following are some of the activities that they are involved in.

All students will be taking part in their first work experience session starting on Monday December 8. The work experience will last for two weeks. They are advised to get work experience in an area where they might eventually look to make a career. Most students have secured positions at this stage and are looking very much forward to the experience they will gain from it.

A group of students had a very interesting experience last week when they had a workshop on ’poetry and rap’. It proved to be a very lively and interesting session. Following the session three of the students were nominated to gor forward to tke part in a special poetry and rap competition. Owen Brett, Calum Whyte and Sean O’Reilly were the boys nominated.

The students of St.Brendan’s had a very successful ceili on Monday, December 1 in the school. They were joined by the Transition Year girls from Loreto Cellege, Bray. While both sets of students appeared very shy at the beginning, they eventually entered into the spirit of it following great encouragement from Noreen Dodd, who organised the ceili. A great time was had by all.

Each Transition Year student will be interviewed this week with regard to the year so far. Every student has kept a log of events to date. They will be interviewed in relation to how everything has gone so far and feedback will be got on all activities to date.

Transition Year students will be singing Christmas Carols at Superquinn, Bray, later this week in aid of ’Focus Ireland’.
