Bray People - - Schoolsreport -

DUNCAN Stewart, television presenter and sustainability expert, was on hand at Bray Town Hall last week to talk about how everyone can do their bit to save energy.

Stewart said that Bray has the potential to launch a great number of pilot projects in the area to save energy. He stressed the importance of building up to the ideal level of energy conservation step-by-step.

The presenter of ‘About the House,’ and ‘Eco Eye’ is one of the country’s best known environmental campaigners and he kept a large group fascinated for over two hours last Thursday evening, giving tips on his topic of expertise.

‘He was absolutely gripping,’ said Cllr. Caroline Burrell on the awardwinning architect, who specialises in ecological designs and energy. Duncan’s enthusiasm on-screen is just as palpable in the flesh and everyone present left with a new zest for insulation. He arrived at around 7.30 p.m. and the evening’s business did not finish until around 10 that night.

The talk was followed on Friday afternoon by a ‘Community Challenge Seminar,’ also in the Town Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
