Bray People - - Bray Sport -

Bray 1, Glenanne 2: Bray ladies first team travelled to Tallaght to face newly promoted Glenanne. Bray dominated the early play and with a well worked ball from midfield player Cheryl O’Toole, Janet O’Beirne scored the first goal of the game.

A good start for visiting team who continued to pressurise, winning numerous short corners but were unfortunate not to capitalise. Just minutes before halftime, the home side equalised the game.

The second-half saw Glenanne, spurred on by the local support; purposefully play the game to their style of play. Bray determined to recover the game, were unlucky on many striking opportunities. Halfway through the second period the home side got their second goal of the game. Not to be deterred, Bray continued to focus and keep up the pressure but unfortunately they could not recover before the final whistle.

LADIES 2NDS

Bray 0, Newbridge 0: Bray ladies seconds took on Newbridge last weekend in their last league game before Christmas.

Newbridge started stongly with numerous attacks on Bray’s defence. The Bray backline fought strongly however and prevented Newbridge from taking the lead with excellent performances by Tara Kelly, Sandra Doyle, Seonadh O’Leary and Clodagh Ni Chearbhaill.

The opposition did manage a few shots on target but goalkeeper Barbara Snow was solid in the goal and saved all their strikes.

Bray had some fantastic chances to take the lead with great work up through the midfield by Adelle Adams and Tara Kelly which found the sticks of Bray forwards Wendy Adams, Jessica Carey and Sinead Lenihan who were unfortunate not to take the lead for Bray.

Both sides battled in the second-half eager to score a goal but the score remained 0-0 at full time. Next week the seconds have their second round of the cup against North Kildare at their home ground in Loreto Bray.
