Conor on scoring spree for saints
FOR THE last few weeks most of us have been freezing cold due to this miserable weather but there’s been one young man in Kilcoole who’s been on fire.
Conor Scullion has scored an incredible 17 goals in his last five games for St. Anthony’s U-13 to leave opposition’s defences quaking in their boots.
The 13-year old Colaiste Craobh Abhann student has been single-handedly firing his side to glory lately, including last weekend when he earned his team a point with an equalizer against Glencormac United.
The youngster’s joy will have been doubled when he discovered that his beloved Celtic had won and, combined with Rangers’ defeat earlier in the day, it meant that they now had opened up a 7-point gap at the top of the SPL.
Scullion has been rewarded for his goal- scoring brilliance in the past, picking up the club’s Most Improved Player of the Year and Player of the Year awards so far in his short career.
The Kilcoole man still dreams of pulling on that green shirt and playing for his country and if he keeps banging them in at this rate, a certain Mr. Trapattoni may just make that phone call.
