Four-car smash on N11 causes two-hour de­lay

COM­MUTERS faced an al­most two-hour de­lay on Mon­day morn­ing as a four-car col­li­sion on the N11 brought traf­fic to a stand­still.

The crash took place in the mid­dle of rush hour at around 7.20 a.m. at the north­bound Fas­saroe exit on the dual car­riage­way.

One woman was in­jured in what was de­scribed by garda spokesper­son, De­clan Lynch, as a ‘nose to tail’ crash, and she was brought to Lough­lin­stown Hospi­tal, where she was later re­leased. The crash caused a tail­back as far as Newtownmountkennedy with one mo­torist say­ing a 20 minute jour­ney had taken her over an hour.

The crash had a knock on ef­fect through Grey­stones Town and Bray town as mo­torists com­ing from Wick­low seeked an al­ter­na­tive route.
