€350,000 avail­able in RAPID fund­ing

THERE is a to­tal of close to €350,000 al­lo­cated to Bray RAPID ar­eas is sit­ting in gov­ern­ment cof­fers and not be­ing drawn down, ac­cord­ing to Cllr. David Grant who spoke at last Tues­day’s coun­cil meet­ing.

He said that some of the money is with cen­tral Gov­ern­ment and some with Bray Town Coun­cil. ‘In ef­fect there is €350,000 not be­ing spent,’ he said.

Cllr. Caro­line Bur­rell sup­ported Cllr. Grant on the is­sue, as did Cathaoir­leach Ciarán O’Brien who said that mea­sures would be put in place to rec­tify the mat­ter.

‘There are works ap­proved in RAPID es­tates not be­ing car­ried out,’ re­marked Cllr. Grant.
