The re­main­ing Christ­mas Craft Fair takes place at the Brock­agh Cen­tre on Sun­day De­cem­ber 14.

There is a huge va­ri­ety of gifts avail­able (over 40 stalls) - many are hand­made and great value for money! Teas, cof­fees, veg­gie wraps, soup, cakes and desserts are also avail­able for those who want to spend a bit of time brows­ing.

Don’t for­get well known artist Lance Neal will be ex­hibit­ing his paint­ings on the 14th De­cem­ber. Christ­mas trees are avail­able and Santa will be arriving by horse and car­riage on Sun­day 14 De­cem­ber-so plenty to suit every­one. Free Park­ing and Free Ad­mis­sion. Sun­day 14th De­cem­ber Santa will leave Lyn­ham’s Car Park at 12 noon and make his way to the Brock­agh Cen­tre, in horse drawn car­riage, where he will stay un­til about 3pm (Christ­mas Craft Fair at the Brock­agh Cen­tre).


There will be an ex­hi­bi­tion of paint­ings by well-known lo­cal artist Lance Neal in the Brock­agh Cen­tre on Sun­day De­cem­ber 14 (dur­ing Christ­mas Craft Fairs). All prints are in­di­vid­u­ally signed by the au­thor. Con­tact Brock­agh Cen­tre (0404) 45600.


There will be a Christ­mas Party in the Brock­agh Cen­tre on Tues­day 16th De­cem­ber with danc­ing from 9.30 til 12. Mu­sic by the Wick­low Man - adm. €10. Spot Prizes, Food & Fun. The Wick­low Man will be back on the 23rd and 30th De­cem­ber.


Win­ter Ram­ble or­gan­ised by Wick­low Moun­tain Na­tional Park on Satur­day De­cem­ber 13. There’s more to see in win­ter than one might imag­ine. Take a break from the Christ­mas shop­ping for a day, and join us on a stroll of one to two hours in Glendalough.

The 3rd an­nual Christ­mas Walk in Glendalough in aid of Ch­er­nobyl Chil­dren takes place on Sun­day 28th De­cem­ber. Hike or walk from the Vis­i­tor Cen­tre via one of three routes and re­turn by 4 pm for mulled wine, hot chocolate, mince pies and some tra­di­tional mu­sic in the Glendalough Ho­tel.

The first hike (a chal­leng­ing 14km) starts at 11am, the sec­ond hike (an in­ter­me­di­ate 10km) starts at 12 noon and Route 3, a 3km fam­ily walk which is suit­able for chil­dren and bug­gies, starts at 2 pm.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to the Tidy Towns Com­mit­tee who re­ceived €300 from Wick­low County Coun­cil in recog­ni­tion of ef­fort re­lat­ing to the Main Street in Laragh. Mar­garet Bolton ac­cepted the award at a re­cent pre­sen­ta­tion.


Glendalough Min­ing Her­itage Com­mit­tee are cur­rently col­lect­ing pho­tos of peo­ple who worked at the Glen­dasan Mine be­tween 1948 and 1957 and are anx­ious to col­lect pho­tos of the fol­low­ing:

A guided walk of Scar and Lough Dan will take place on Sun­day 21 De­cem­ber. With it be­ing Christ­mas time we will have a fes­tive theme on this walk, mulled wine and minced pies to help you on your way. Hope­fully the mulled wine will be warm by the time we get to drink it.

This will be a 3-4 hr moderate walk. The price for this walk will be just •25 and it’s im­por­tant to book early as places will be lim­ited.
