Put off road for drunken driving
AWOMAN WAS put off the road for drunken driving when she appeared at Bray District Court this week.
Miriam Rooney of 3 Bonta Na Sleithe, Clashmore, Waterford, pleaded guilty to drunken driving and dangerous driving at the Strand Road on October 26.
The court heard that Rooney was stopped by gardaí when she crossed a continuous white line and they subsequently found that she was drunk driving.
The Defence Barrister told the court that Rooney has a drink problem and is addressing this serious condition, however, her meetings are 26 kilometres from her home so she needs her car,
Judge Murrough Connellan convicted and fined Rooney €250 for drunken driving and disqualified her from driving for three years to commence on January 4.
