Man refused to give garda proper name
BEING DRUNK in public and giving a false name resulted in one man who failed to appear in court been given a hefty fine.
Tomas O’Threasaigh of 5 Dargle Court, Off Greenpark Road, Bray, failed to appear at the District Court on charges of being drunk in public and refusing to give his name and address at Upper Dargle Road on December 6.
Garda John O’Reilly told the court at around 4.30 a.m. he saw a group of youths acting suspiciously and one of them was O’Threasaigh.
O’Threasaigh was very drunk and gave a false name four times to Garda O’Reilly. Judge Murrough Connellan convicted and fined O’Threasaigh €120 for being drunk in public and €250 for giving a false name.
