Man re­fused to give garda proper name

BE­ING DRUNK in pub­lic and giv­ing a false name re­sulted in one man who failed to ap­pear in court been given a hefty fine.

To­mas O’Threa­saigh of 5 Dar­gle Court, Off Green­park Road, Bray, failed to ap­pear at the District Court on charges of be­ing drunk in pub­lic and re­fus­ing to give his name and ad­dress at Up­per Dar­gle Road on De­cem­ber 6.

Garda John O’Reilly told the court at around 4.30 a.m. he saw a group of youths act­ing sus­pi­ciously and one of them was O’Threa­saigh.

O’Threa­saigh was very drunk and gave a false name four times to Garda O’Reilly. Judge Mur­rough Con­nel­lan con­victed and fined O’Threa­saigh €120 for be­ing drunk in pub­lic and €250 for giv­ing a false name.
