Man ac­cused of car theft at fire sta­tion

A BRAY MAN ac­cused of bur­glary and steal­ing a car from Bray Fire Sta­tion also ap­peared in court on a num­ber of traf­fic of­fences, which saw him been handed down fines adding up to just un­der €1,000 for road traf­fic of­fences.

Ed­ward Do­ran of 51 Bal­ly­waltrim Heights, Bray, pleaded guilty to driv­ing without in­sur­ance, without a driv­ing li­cence, without road tax and a valid NCT disc and other road traf­fic of­fences at Rynville Manor, Kil­lar­ney Road, on Au­gust 21.

Garda Glenn Quinn told the court he stopped Do­ran at 3.40 a.m. and de­manded Do­ran’s driv­ing li­cence which he failed to pro­duce. He also failed to pro­duce all his doc­u­ments within 10 days at his cho­sen garda sta­tion.

For driv­ing with no in­sur­ance Do­ran was con­victed and fined €350 and dis­qual­i­fied from driv- ing for one year, for no road tax he was fined €150, for no driv­ing li­cence he was fined €150 and for fail­ing to pro­duce a valid NCT cer­tifi­cate he was fined a fur­ther € 250.

Do­ran also ap­peared on a charge of bur­glary and for steal­ing a car at Bray Fire Sta­tion, Schools Road, on Oc­to­ber 18.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to Fe­bru­ary 16 for the DPPs di­rec­tions.
