Traders want signs for Newtown Vevay

Bray People - - News -

BRAY may have a new town if the residents and traders association up at the Vevay have their way. ‘The sign welcoming people to Newtown Vevay should say ‘Welcome to Newtown Vevay from Councillor Byrne and Councillor Burrell,’ suggested Councillor Caroline Burrell at last week’s Town Council meeting.

‘I’d wait until after the election for that one, cause you wouldn’t want to be making undue costs,’ teased Councillor Pat Vance.

Councillor John Byrne informed the members that the Vevay have their own traders association who are very proud of their shops and their up-keep.

It is from this that they have decided they would like to be called Newtown Vevay. Christine Flood, the Town Clerk, confirmed that the proposed area of where the signs are to be erected needs to be agreed upon.
