CANCER SUPPORT is one of the organisations appealing to the public to brave the chilly water on New Year’s Day and take part in the 25th Bray Sea Swim.

There has been €209,120 raised for local charities since the first swim in 1984. Organisers expect to celebrate this year’s special anniversary by raising more than last year’s €20,120.

Over 200 people have already put their names down for the annual plunge, and are seeking sponsorship within the community.

The swim will take place on New Year’s Day at midday and is always followed by seasonal refreshments in the Strand Hotel to warm up the brave swimmers!

Anyone interested in taking part can contact Joe Codyre on (086) 8561888.
