Sheep gives birth to twin lambs

PIGS may have been hogging the recent headlines due to the recent pork crisis but Ashford farmer Peader Shortt couldn’t keep his mind of lambs, Christmas lambs to be exact.

Most people quite rightly associate young lambs springing across green fields with the Spring time, and usually they would be dead right.

However, Peadar had a surprise in store when two newly born Lambs were delivered just a few weeks short of Christmas.

While labelling it a Christmas miracle may be a bit of a stretch, in all Peader’s years of farming he can’t ever recall one lamb born so late into the year, never- mind twins.

In keeping with the festive theme youngsters Amy, Jennifer and Julie arrived at the farm only an hour or so after the two lambs had been born and managed to grab a snap that looked like it could have come straight out of a nativity scene centring around a Christmas manger.
