Everyone in the Christmas spirit
A GREAT SUCCESS for the second year running was St. David’s Annual Christmas Fair which took place last Saturday.
The event hosted a great assortment of Arts, Crafts and Antique stalls plus a stunning Santa’s Grotto.
The highly-successful, fundraising affair, enjoyed great support from the community at large, both from local business and the record number of people who attended.
Everybody was in the festive spirit with the kids getting very excited with the chance to visit Santa to give him their lists for Christmas day.
At the grotto they all received a special gift from Santa.
Families could also buy a memorable photograph of the visit which was mounted in an attractive, handmade Christmas card.
Greystones folk choir provided immense Christmas cheer with a wonderful medley of festive carols.
In addition, local artists highlighted their artistic talent in an art exhibition as part of this worthy community event.
Stalls included a diverse range of handcrafted products; festive décor, accessories, antiques & collectables.
The fair enjoyed great support from the business community, in particular with donations for the raffle.
Special thanks goes to Cllr, Grainne McLoughlin who donated her time and expertise at the planning stages of the event.
The fair was organised by St. David’s fund-raising committee with lots of help from volunteer parents within the school.
The committee anticipates that this Christmas market will evolve into the school’s main fundraiser for the year.
Due to the present cutbacks in government funding, monies raised from the event will go towards educational supplies, and the upkeep and maintenance of the school property.
The committee would like to thank all the local businesses who donated prizes for the fair.
