ST. THOMAS’ C.C.
Last Thursday, mentoring students were visited by guest speaker Fidelma Farrell from the Schools Business Partnership. Topics discussed included preparation for interviews for college and work, and students were invited to mock interviews taking place in Bank of Ireland Headquarters in January. This represents a great opportunity, in that it prepares the students for life in the working world. St. Thomas’ Community College has enjoyed a successful partnership with Bank of Ireland, Cabinteely over the past number of years.
Over the past few weeks, Transition Year students have been selling 2009 Calendars on the corridors at break-times as part of their Mini-Enterprise project. A great deal of effort was made by the students in terms of research, product development and sales. Well done to all involved.
1N students, Student Council members and Homework Club participants were treated to a day out last Friday as a reward for positive behaviour and participation. The group visited Arklow On Ice where the students enjoyed ice-skating, followed by lunch. A great day was had by all!
Students are busy rehearsing for the upcoming Christmas event which will take place next Tuesday. Both staff and students are looking forward to it.
First Year, Second Year, Third Year and Fifth Year students are commencing their Christmas Examinations this week. Best of luck to all!
Merry Christmas Wishing all staff and students a very happy Christmas and New Year!
