ST. VIN­CENT DE PAUL CON­FER­ENCE

The first Con­fer­ence of The St. Vin­cent De Paul was es­tab­lished in St. Ger­ard’s re­cently. The elected of­fi­cers are Lisa-Marie Sal­ley (Pres­i­dent), Theodore Jebb (Vice-Pres­i­dent), David Mul­rooney (Trea­surer) and Miriam Bourke (Sec­re­tary). Con­grat­u­la­tions to you on your elec­tions and we look for­ward to work dur­ing the com­ing aca­demic year.

Ch­er­nobyl Chil­dren’s Project We would like to take this op­por­tu­nity to thank Mr. Damien Meaney of the Ch­er­nobyl Chil­dren’s Project In­ter­na­tional for his pre­sen­ta­tion about the work of the char­ity in Cehrnobyl. Mr. Meaney has trav­elled ex­ten­sively in the re­gion and pre­sented a stim­u­lat­ing and though pro­vok­ing talk about his work. Funds are be­ing raised for the char­ity within the school through the sale of Christ­mas cards.

PER­SONAL ACHIEVE­MENTS

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Milo De­laney of Tran­si­tion Year on re­ceipt of a Per­ma­nent TSB High Achiever Award for Mu­sic. Th­ese awards are pre­sented for ex­cel­lence in Mu­sic The­ory by the Royal Ir­ish Academy of Mu­sic an­nu­ally. Milo is one of 21 stu­dents to re­ceive the award from over 42,000 mu­sic, speech and drama stu­dents around the coun­try.

Con­grat­u­la­tions also to An­thony Kelly (6th Year) on his se­lec­tion to the County Wick­low Youths Soc­cer Panel. An­thony was part of the team that played against the Dublin Youths re­cently. Fi­nally may we take this op­por­tu­nity to wish all our read­ers, staff, stu­dents and their par­ents a very peace­ful Christ­mas and happy New Year.
