CLUB ACTIVITIES have been considerably muted in the past week as members received the sad news of the passing of seven-yearold Conor McCabe, son of prominent club member Garreth. from Killowen, Castletown, who died unexpectedly last week after a short illness.

Club members were very privileged to form a guard of honour at Conor’s funeral. The club would like to extend its deepest sympathies to Garreth, Sandra and Conor’s sister, Sarah and to club member Mick O’Neill who is Conor’s uncle.

The club will be commemorating the memory of Conor in the future to acknowledge his short but loving and fulfilling life. The club has also cancelled its intended night out on Friday next in the Arklow Bay as a mark of respect.

The Christmas race will be held on Sunday next at 10 a.m. from outside, the club sponsor Jim Tomkin’s premises at the Monument, Gorey. A very good field is expected for this race and it has provided exciting racing in the past.
