Drunk in public
TWO AVOCA MEN who pleaded guilty to intoxication in a public place after they caused a disturbance in Shillelagh village have been advised to make a €100 donation to the local St. Vincent de Paul.
Stephen Crean, 9 Station Road and David Kinsella, 49 Woodview Park were charged after Gardaí were called to Park View House, Shillelagh on April 20, 2008 to find the defendants arguing with local people.
Garda Christopher Murray told the court that both men were arrested and were detained at the Garda Station overnight.
The court heard that Crean has no previous convictions but that Kinsella has appeared in court before.
Judge Murrough Connellan adjourned the case to January 21, 2009 to enable the defendants to make the donations.
