Woman acted as look-out while for­mer boyfriend fleeced store

A BRAY MOTHER who acted as a ‘look-out’ for her ex-boyfriend when he stole over € 40,000 worth of de­signer items from a Dun Laoghaire bou­tique will be sen­tenced next year.

So­nia Kennedy (26) of Cois­cairne, Old Con­naught Av­enue, Bray, was caught on CCTV aid­ing the thief while he stole jew­ellery, sun- glasses and jeans, val­ued €42,000, from Sea­green in Monkstown Cres­cent.

De­tec­tive Garda Daniel Treacy told prose­cu­tion coun­sel, Mr Damien Col­gon BL, that gar­dai re­cov­ered € 7,000 worth of the stolen goods from a derelict house at Ge­orge’s Place, Dun Laoghaire where the mother-of-three claimed she’d squat­ting with boyfriend.

Kennedy pleaded guilty at Dublin Cir­cuit Crim­i­nal Court to her role in the theft on April 22, 2007. Det Gda Treacy agreed with de­fence coun­sel, Ms Lily Buck­ley BL, that her client was in­flu­enced by her exboyfriend but was now in a new re­la­tion­ship. been
