Soccer action

NOT MANY games this time of the year but mixed results for the young glens to report. The 9s were at home to Greystones and put in a brave display before going down on a 31 scoreline.

Michael Brady gave them the lead but Greystones hit back to clinch victory.

However, this was a great all round team performance for a relatively new team who have only played six matches together as a team and are improving each game. Conor Devlin and Eamon Power had outstanding games on the day.

The 10s were away to Greystones and came back from 1-0 down to level matters by halftime.

The 2nd half saw the glens turn on the style and running out 5-1 winners. Luke O’Sullivan hit another brace with further strikes from Gavan Maher, James Cahill and Aaron Fitzpatrick. Conor Mansfield and Jamie Woods shone in a great team display and hopefully this team can keep it going in the new year and clinch that league title.

The 13s faced Arklow Celtic away and recorded a great 8-1 win. Stephen Kirwin and Aaron Cahill both hit 4 goals in this one with Donal Touhy, Niall King and Marcus Rafferty the top performers.

Both the players and committee of Glencormac United would like to wish you and your families a wonderful and peaceful Christmas and the club would once again like to thank you all for the great support it received from the community again this year.
