ST. ANNE’S PARISH
Mass times: Mass is celebrated in St. Anne’s Church at 10 a.m Monday to Saturday. Weekend mass times are 6.30 p.m. Saturday Vigil mass and Sunday at 8 a.m., (9am in St. Columcille’s Hospital), 10.30 a.m. (family mass), midday and 6 p.m. Confessions are heard on Saturdays after the 10 a.m. mass, between 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m. and after the 6.30 p.m. mass.
Miraculous Medal Devotions take place at the Monday 10 a.m. mass.
Baptisms: take place in St. Anne’s Church at 12.45 p.m. on the first Sunday of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the second, third and fourth Saturdays of the month. A month’s notice is required. Please contact Parish Secretary Jack Williams in St. Anne’s Parish Office to make your arrangements. Please note that when visiting the Parish Office to arrange a baptism, the child’s birth certificate should be brought as it necessary to photocopy it for the parish records but it will be returned immediately.
The Parish Office: open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. St. Anne’s Resource Centre is open from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each weekday.
Blessings: If you would like a priest to call by and bless your home, Fr. Michael O’Dwyer will be available to do so. To arrange, please call the Parish Office at 282 2277.
Morning Prayer: is said each weekday morning in St. Anne’s Church at 9.25am and all are welcome to attend.
Floral Artists Wanted: The Altar Society whose flower arrangements are admired each week would like some new members to join the team. If you have a talent for decorating with flowers which you can share with the rest of us. Please leave your name and telephone number into the Sacristy or St. Anne’s Resource Centre.
Carol Service: Last Wednesday night the Parish Christmas Carol Service took place in the church, featuring the Adult Choir and choirs from St. Anne’s National School and Scoil Mhuire National School.
During the Carol Service a Nativity Play was performed by children who had been rehearsing it for the past 4 weeks and was repeated on Sunday after the 10.30am Mass.
Christmas Mass Times: On Christmas Eve these are at 10am with the Vigil Masses at 8pm and 10pm.
On Christmas Day Masses are 8am, (9am in the Hospital), 10am, 11am and 12 Noon. There will be no Evening Mass. On Friday December 26th, St. Stephen’s Day, Mass is at 10am only.
On Saturday December 27th Masses are at 10am and 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sunday December 27th at 8am, (9am in the Hospital), 10.30am Family Mass , 12 Noon and 6pm.
Dublin Gospel Choir: At part of the celebrations to mark the centenary of the Pallottine Fathers in Ireland, the Dublin Gospel Choir will give a Concert in St. Anne’s Church on Friday January 16th at 8pm and there will be a special performance from the choirs of Scoil Mhuire and St. Anne’s National Schools. Tickets are €10 and are now on sale in St. Anne’s Resource Centre.
Christmas Arrangements: On Christmas Eve The First Communion of Christmas will be celebrated at 11.45pm.
On Christmas Day there will be 8.30am Holy Communion, 11am All Age Worship and 11.45am Holy Communion.
On Sunday December 28th (The First Sunday of Christmas) there will be 8.30am Holy Communion and 11am Morning Prayer - there will be no Evening Service.
The President and Committee of the Rathmichael Historical Society, Shankill’s own local history society, extend Christmas Wishes to members and their families and to all those who support and assist the Society in so many ways.
The next meeting of the Rathmichael Historical Society will take place on January 7th at 8 pm in the Burton Hall of Rathmichael School on Stonebridge Road (Dublin Road end) when the AGM of the Society will take place.
All members of the Society are asked to note this date and to make a point of attending the AGM so that the reports of the outgoing committee can be placed before the membership for discussion and adoption and a committee for 2009 elected.
The AGM will conclude with a presentation from James Scannell recalling ‘The Closure of the Harcourt StreetBray Line 50 Years Ago.’

SHANKILL GUILD ICA
Meetings of the Shankill Guild ICA takes place at 8 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in the Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre , Lower Road, Shankill.
The Guild’s Activity Night takes place at 8 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in the Shankill Old Folks Association Day Centre.
The Craft Morning takes place each Wednesday from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Anne’s Resource Centre. New members welcome. Contact Ms. Betty Murray (President) at 2820069.
PANIC SUPPORT GROUP
There is a confidential support group in Shankill available to anyone who suffers from anxiety disorder or panic attacks. If you or some someone close to you is affected in this way, contact Kathy on 085-7386736 to obtain further information /details.
Volunteers are still needed to offer an hour of prayer in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel which is open Monday to Friday 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

The Club’s courts are also open to non-members and ladies Mornings (Wednesdays), Men’s Mornings (Sundays) and Mixed Doubles nights (Wednesdays) are all open to nonmembers.
The next First Saturday Book Sale which raises funds for the Shankill Old Folks Association and Meals on Wheels takes place on Saturday January 3rd between 10am and 1 pm in Old Folks Centre for the first 2009 Saturday Book Sale and every first Saturday of the month thereafter.
The January meeting of the Shankill Classical Music Club will take place in the Shankill Old Folks Association Centre, Lower Road, Shankill at 7.45pm. on Wednesday January 7th.
