Mass times: Mass is cel­e­brated in St. Anne’s Church at 10 a.m Mon­day to Satur­day. Week­end mass times are 6.30 p.m. Satur­day Vigil mass and Sun­day at 8 a.m., (9am in St. Colum­cille’s Hospi­tal), 10.30 a.m. (fam­ily mass), mid­day and 6 p.m. Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10 a.m. mass, be­tween 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m. and af­ter the 6.30 p.m. mass.

Mirac­u­lous Medal De­vo­tions take place at the Mon­day 10 a.m. mass.

Bap­tisms: take place in St. Anne’s Church at 12.45 p.m. on the first Sun­day of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the sec­ond, third and fourth Satur­days of the month. A month’s no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact Parish Sec­re­tary Jack Wil­liams in St. Anne’s Parish Of­fice to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the Parish Of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child’s birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the parish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

The Parish Of­fice: open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mon­day, Tues­day, Thurs­day and Fri­day. St. Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre is open from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each week­day.

Morn­ing Prayer: is said each week­day morn­ing in St. Anne’s Church at 9.25am and all are wel­come to at­tend.

Flo­ral Artists Wanted: The Al­tar So­ci­ety whose flower ar­range­ments are ad­mired each week would like some new mem­bers to join the team. If you have a tal­ent for dec­o­rat­ing with flow­ers which you can share with the rest of us. Please leave your name and tele­phone num­ber into the Sac­risty or St. Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre.

Carol Ser­vice: Last Wed­nes­day night the Parish Christ­mas Carol Ser­vice took place in the church, fea­tur­ing the Adult Choir and choirs from St. Anne’s Na­tional School and Scoil Mhuire Na­tional School.

Dur­ing the Carol Ser­vice a Na­tiv­ity Play was per­formed by chil­dren who had been re­hears­ing it for the past 4 weeks and was re­peated on Sun­day af­ter the 10.30am Mass.

Christ­mas Mass Times: On Christ­mas Eve th­ese are at 10am with the Vigil Masses at 8pm and 10pm.

On Christ­mas Day Masses are 8am, (9am in the Hospi­tal), 10am, 11am and 12 Noon. There will be no Evening Mass. On Fri­day De­cem­ber 26th, St. Stephen’s Day, Mass is at 10am only.

On Satur­day De­cem­ber 27th Masses are at 10am and 6.30pm Vigil Mass and on Sun­day De­cem­ber 27th at 8am, (9am in the Hospi­tal), 10.30am Fam­ily Mass , 12 Noon and 6pm.

Dublin Gospel Choir: At part of the cel­e­bra­tions to mark the cen­te­nary of the Pal­lot­tine Fathers in Ire­land, the Dublin Gospel Choir will give a Con­cert in St. Anne’s Church on Fri­day Jan­uary 16th at 8pm and there will be a spe­cial per­for­mance from the choirs of Scoil Mhuire and St. Anne’s Na­tional Schools. Tick­ets are €10 and are now on sale in St. Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre.


Christ­mas Ar­range­ments: On Christ­mas Eve The First Com­mu­nion of Christ­mas will be cel­e­brated at 11.45pm.

On Christ­mas Day there will be 8.30am Holy Com­mu­nion, 11am All Age Wor­ship and 11.45am Holy Com­mu­nion.

On Sun­day De­cem­ber 28th (The First Sun­day of Christ­mas) there will be 8.30am Holy Com­mu­nion and 11am Morn­ing Prayer - there will be no Evening Ser­vice.


The Pres­i­dent and Com­mit­tee of the Rath­michael His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety, Shankill’s own lo­cal his­tory so­ci­ety, ex­tend Christ­mas Wishes to mem­bers and their fam­i­lies and to all those who sup­port and as­sist the So­ci­ety in so many ways.

The next meet­ing of the Rath­michael His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety will take place on Jan­uary 7th at 8 pm in the Bur­ton Hall of Rath­michael School on Stone­bridge Road (Dublin Road end) when the AGM of the So­ci­ety will take place.

All mem­bers of the So­ci­ety are asked to note this date and to make a point of at­tend­ing the AGM so that the re­ports of the out­go­ing com­mit­tee can be placed be­fore the mem­ber­ship for dis­cus­sion and adop­tion and a com­mit­tee for 2009 elected.

The AGM will con­clude with a pre­sen­ta­tion from James Scan­nell re­call­ing ‘The Clo­sure of the Har­court StreetBray Line 50 Years Ago.’

Meet­ings of the Shankill Guild ICA takes place at 8 p.m. on the sec­ond Mon­day of each month in the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion Day Cen­tre , Lower Road, Shankill.

The Guild’s Ac­tiv­ity Night takes place at 8 p.m. on the third Mon­day of each month in the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion Day Cen­tre.

The Craft Morn­ing takes place each Wed­nes­day from 10.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in St. Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre. New mem­bers wel­come. Con­tact Ms. Betty Mur­ray (Pres­i­dent) at 2820069.


There is a con­fi­den­tial sup­port group in Shankill avail­able to any­one who suf­fers from anx­i­ety dis­or­der or panic at­tacks. If you or some some­one close to you is af­fected in this way, con­tact Kathy on 085-7386736 to ob­tain fur­ther in­for­ma­tion /de­tails.


Vol­un­teers are still needed to of­fer an hour of prayer in the Blessed Sacra­ment Chapel which is open Mon­day to Fri­day 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

The next First Satur­day Book Sale which raises funds for the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion and Meals on Wheels takes place on Satur­day Jan­uary 3rd be­tween 10am and 1 pm in Old Folks Cen­tre for the first 2009 Satur­day Book Sale and ev­ery first Satur­day of the month there­after.


The Jan­uary meet­ing of the Shankill Clas­si­cal Mu­sic Club will take place in the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion Cen­tre, Lower Road, Shankill at 7.45pm. on Wed­nes­day Jan­uary 7th.
