We had a great Christmas get-together in Lynhams on Tuesday last. It was great to see so many familiar faces and some new ones. We had a superb lunch and were treated like VIPs.
The wonderful children from St. Kevin’s National school entertained us with Christmas carols and we had even had a visit from Santa - we must have been very good. What made it even more enjoyable is that we got to share the afternoon with our friends from Sunbeam in Rathdrum who, along with Mae, even provided us with a song.
Thanks to everyone who made the day so successful - all the staff of Lynhams, the teachers and children of St. Kevin’s National School, the staff of the Brockagh Centre and all our helpers. Thanks to all who donated. A special thanks to Lucy who put so much work into the day and who we now know is a master of disguise!
Well done to the Youth Club who organised for Santa to visit the Brockagh Centre on Sunday 14 last. The reindeers weren’t available that day so they organised for him to arrive by horse and carriage.
They even organised a grotto for Santa so he would feel at home. A lot of work into the day which was much appreciated by the children who came to visit and their parents. A big thank you to all the young people involved and their leaders.
HILLTOP TREKS CHRISTMAS
A guided walk of Scar and Lough Dan will take place on Sunday 21 December.
With it being Christmas time we will have a festive theme on this walk, mulled wine and minced pies to help you on your way. Hopefully the mulled wine will be warm by the time we get to drink it. This will be a 3-4 hr moderate walk.
The price for this walk will be just €25 and it’s important to book early as places will be limited. Please ring Terry on 087-7849599, e-mail Terry@hilltoptreks.ie for more infor- mation. Terry will be back in the New Year at the Brockagh Centre with his Yoga and Walks.
The Wicklow Man will continue in the Brockagh Centre over the Christmas & New Year period. He will be in the Brockagh Centre on the 23rd and 30th December.
