Arklow Town A 4, Avonmore FC 1: This was the result that many people would have expected as two divisions separate these sides.

WICKLOW CUP ROUND 2 Premier Division side Arklow Town saw off Division 2 outfit Avonmore FC’s challenge quite comfortably, winning by a three goal margin in the end.

Anto Kenny was on target twice for the hosts in this one, with Willie Kavanagh and Dean Barry also netting for Arklow.

Ollie Byrne was the man responsible for Avonmore’s goal.

BBK United 0, Aughrim Rangers B 1: The upsets are coming thick and fast in this years Wicklow Cup and it proved no different on Sunday with BBK United the side to get stung this time.

Currently sitting top of Division 3, they would have been hoping to overcome the challenge of bottom side at Aughrim Rangers at Brittas Park but the Aughrim men clearly hadn’t read the script.

A Mark Fluskey goal was enough to send the hosts packing and it was even better for Rangers considering their ‘A’ side were eliminated from the competition on Sunday.

So it will be Aughrim Rangers B who fly the Aughrim flag in the next round of the Wicklow Cup, and it’s all thanks to Mark Fluskey.
