Mountain rescue team are kept on their toes

Bray People - - Out And About At Christmas Time -

MEMBERS OF the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue and Dublin/Mountain Rescue teams were both called out on Monday afternoon, their third day of activity since Christmas Day.

At 2.48 p.m. the two teams were contacted by the gardaí about a female hill-walker who needed some attention having suffered a lower leg injury.

She was out hill-walking with a group of other walkers on Mullacor Mountain, between Glendalough and Glenmalure.

While heading towards the Wicklow Way track for Glenmalure, she slipped on some ice and sustained a lower leg injury.

Fortunately the casualty was close to the forestry tracks, so she was quickly evacuated by mountain rescue personnel and transferred by an ERHA ambulance on to hospital.
