Council warning for aerodrome owner

Bray People - - Out And About At Christmas Time -

THE OWNER of Newcastle Aerodrome has been issued with an enforcement notice by Wicklow County Council demanding he reverses developments which have taken place over the past six months without planning permission.

Wicklow Cathaoirleach Derek Mitchell believes the issuing of the enforcement notice should ease local fears that the aerodrome was being pushed toward commercial use.

Cathaoirleach Mitchell says, ‘I welcome this as a number of residents have complained to me about the expansion. I do not want to see the airport creeping towards commercial use as Weston Airport did.

‘ If they want to expand then they should apply for Planning Permission like anyone else.’
