NORTH WICKLOW SNOWED UNDER!

Bray People - - Front Page -

THE WINTER weather conditions played havoc in North Wicklow on Monday morning.

Snow left Bray blanketed in brilliant white, but the spectacular scenery spelt a day of frustration for commuters and motorists, some of whom sat for hours in a traffic jam stretching all the way to Ashford.

There were two crashes on Monday morning at Greystones at the Newtownmountkennedy section of the N11.

Cars were being abandoned at the side of the road as drivers either ran out of petrol or thought better of spending the morning tackling the traffic and conditions and walked back home.

‘There was about a 1,000 car tailback,’ reported one motorist who spent two and a half hours on the road from Gorey to Bray. She said that visibility was extremely poor and everyone was slowing right down.
