FOOTPATHS in Killincarrig village have been redone twice according to Cllr. Chris Maloney and he wants to know who is paying it.

Speaking at last Tuesday’s meeting of Greystones Town Council Cllr. Maloney wondered ‘ who is at fault for getting the levels of the footpaths wrong in Killincarrig village’ before wondering what is the cost of replacing them and who is footing the bill?

He went on to say that the wheelchair accessible points on the paths were wrong. Engineer Eoin Breslin said he had spoken to the technician about the levels and said it was not the road levels that had changed but the road. He said that the council had to put a base under the road.

However Cllr. Maloney was adamant that the paths had been taken up and re-laid. Mr. Breslin said he would make further inquiries and said the council had ‘made some tweaking to the design at particular points’.

Cllr. George Jones said that many of the business premises in Killincarrig has been dis accommodated by the works of which they were not notified until the work had started.

He asked for a full report of the road works at the next meeting of the council.
