Meggie’s happy 70th celebrated at club

Bray People - - Out And About -

PEOPLE came from far and wide to wish Anne Conway, known to many as ‘Meggie Doyle,’ a very happy 70th birthday at Bray’s fishing club last Saturday night. Her children Karen and Alan, Karen’s husband James and their children were there to take part in the celebration for a woman who spends most of her time looking after other people. Some friends from as far as Manchester came along, as well as people from all over Ireland. Her own sister Eva, brother-in-law Harry and sister-in-law Patricia were there as well as lots of relatives. Originally from Wolfe Tone, Anne now lives in Shankill. She knows ‘every- body’ according to her family, and there was a full house on Saturday for the party. Karen made sure to bring a cake for family friend John Flynn, also turning 70 around the same time. John was thrilled and stood up to say a few words in praise of Anne, who continues to work for the Christian Brothers in Dublin. She was over the moon to get the gift of a holiday to Portugal from her sister, as well as a box all the way from Australia containing an Australian hat and lamb’s wool blanket.
